Jules’ Story
A testimonial from one of our survivors
In terms of support, I have felt extremely lucky to have not only had Leonie be a shoulder to lean on emotionally but to have her practically providing support when I was going through two court cases and involving the police with my personal situation. As well as this, I attended the Freedom Program with other survivors of DA which gave me the tools to empower myself to recognise the traits of abuse, as well as come to terms with the abuse which I had gone through (which I had previously dismissed as “normal”). The program was vital in keeping me afloat and connecting with other resilient women was inspiring. The service is vital and I really hope the team are able to continue providing life-saving service. I dread to think where I’d be without Leonie and the team literally providing a life-line for me when I had hit rock bottom.
