We currently have an opportunity for a Specialist Domestic Abuse Advice Line Worker to join Peterborough Women’s Aid.

You will make the first contact with medium risk victims of domestic abuse.You will ensure the victims safety through safety planning, risk assessment and appropriate referrals.

You will work closely within a team in a fast-paced environment making quick informed decisions to ensure the safety of victims of domestic abuse.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To make first contact calls to medium risk victims of domestic abuse in line with the Peterborough Womens Aid Case Management Policy.
  • To support victims in a trauma informed way
  • Provide emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse
  • To signpost victims to appropriate partner agencies and local resources
  • To record all interactions with victims on the PWA database
  • To identify safeguarding concerns and highlight to the appropriate Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • To take a multi-agency approach to supporting victims and work closely with staff and the victim and witness hub.

2. Liaison with staff, other agencies, and volunteers

Work closely and integrate with staff from the Victim and Witness Hub

Build strong relationships with partner agencies

Share relevant information with statutory organisations.

3. Development of Service Provision

Attend in-house and community meetings

Keep abreast of current issues of debate surrounding domestic abuse

Take up training relevant to your duties and future developments.

4. Administration and Finance

Produce information and reports for funders.

Keep up to date with mandatory training, annual leave and supervision
