For women and children outside of the Peterborough area, we provide safe temporary accommodation.
Our team consists of 6 dedicated members of staff who provide emotional and practical support to women on a one to one and group basis.
The one to one sessions held with women, enable them to have a safe environment, where they can express their feelings and receive unconditional positive regard.
What we do:
- Emotional and Practical Support
- Advice with legal issues, housing and benefits
- A safe space to be
- One to one and group work with trained staff and other survivors
- Health and Well Being groups.
- Empower women to make their own choices.
Referrals to our refuge come from a variety of agencies and we welcome self referrals, nationally.
We have specialist workers based in our refuge offering practical and emotional support to women and their children.
They ensure all children/young people have access to education, health services and community resources. We offer one to one support, group work and therapeutic sessions to enable children to discuss and explore issues surrounding domestic violence in a safe and friendly environment. We do this through supporting children and young people through talking, listening, play and creative activities. We enable children and young people to express and understand their feelings, build confidence and self-esteem and to build links within the local community.
We also offer support to women to raise their awareness and understanding of their children’s experiences and impact of domestic abuse, rebuilding or strengthening their bond.
